American Heritage Girls (AHG)

American Heritage Girls (AHG)

American Heritage Girls (AHG) is the premier national character development organization for girls that embraces Christian values and encourages family involvement.  Its Mission is to build women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country.  The AHG Program includes Six Program Emphases that addresses the spiritual, mental, physical, and social needs of today’s young women.

Your local AHG Troop led entirely by Volunteers, is owned by its Charter Organization, West Hartsville Baptist Church.  We meet on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays of the month.

Our Troop meeting outline is that all Girl Members meet together, break into age-specific Program Levels at various times during Troop meetings.  This provides a well-rounded Program that integrates leadership opportunities for the older girls and also provides role models to help teach the younger girls.

Our Program Theme this year is “Shine”.
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16, NIV

As God created the stars to SHINE in the sky, He has created His light to SHINE within each of His followers with the light of His Good News—the salvation He brings! He reminds us throughout Scripture that even on the darkest night, we can reflect His Light. The light of Christ reminds us we are loved and encourages us to share His light by shining brightly for others around us to experience His love too. As your Troop and family join other Christ-followers, together we can brightly SHINE the light of Christ, piercing the darkness.
